A familiar name in the consumer home product industry is entering a new arena. The new line of Honeywell home generators will make its debut at the 2008 National Hardware Show in Las Vegas, May 6 – 8.

As the exclusive licensee of Honeywell portable and home standby generators, Milwaukee-based Northshore Power Systems has designed the new generators to meet the unique needs of homeowners. The residential generators segment, already a 1.2 billion industry, is expected to grow significantly as more homeowners take measures to protect their homes and families from weather disasters and stressed power grids.

More than 100 million homeowners already use Honeywell home comfort products, but the Honeywell generator line, which will include both portable and standby models, represents the Honeywell brand’s first appearance in the generator segment. The portable generators will debut in May, followed by the standby generators in the fall.

For many first-time buyers in the growing home generator space, purchasing a generator can be a daunting experience.
