HW7000EH Donated to Detroit Firemen’s Benevolent Fund[2010-02-26]
Northshore Power Systems donates a Honeywell HW7000EH Generator the Detroit Firemen’s Benevolent Fund. As a company that is always willing to assist when needs present themselves, Northshore Power System's was excited to help put this together. Mark Stiegel, an engineer at Northshore, describes more about the fund and how events unfolded. As Mark explained, "The Detroit Firemen’s Benevolent Fund has had a project to restore a 1937 Fire Truck for the past 7 years and it is nearly completed. My understanding is that this restored fire truck will be used as a hearse and also will have its lights lighted and blinking 24/7 during the wake and funeral of a fallen Detroit fireman. They wanted to have a generator so that the lights would continue to blink in the event of a power outage. One of the individuals (Russ) working on this project is a Mahle Powertrain employee and the proud son of a Detroit Fireman. Russ knew of the Honeywell generators that were being tested at Mahle and essentially got the ball rolling with the Benevolent Fund to obtain a back-up power generator. Tom Suchora of the Benevolent Fund contacted me and Northshore Power Systems decided to donate a HW7000EH generator to this cause." On March 2, Tom and Russ came to Ann Arbor to pick up their donated generator and were very thankful that Northshore Power Systems was willing to help them.
